It seems like there are a lot of homes for sale in our town. I know that some have been on the market for a very long time. I would hate to have a house that couldn't sell. To move to another location and try to buy a home while still attempting to sell one would not be a fun thing. I know people that would like to build new homes but are not able to get theirs sold. I think we will just stay where we are.

New Orleans

Bill had a business trip to New Orleans. We have never been there before. I wondered if it was in better shape now that time has passed. People had told us that was one of the larger cities in the U.S. with such a high crime rate. It will be fun to check out the pictures he had taken while there.

Jake

Our youngest son is quite ambitious. He took one year of college his senior year of high school. With that he ended up graduating college one year ahead of many of his classmates. He actually started his career the week before he had graduated with a great job at John Deere. With less then a year on there, he has now been offered a Product Engineer position. He is only 21 years old and doing awesome! He really enjoys what he's doing, which is a huge plus. We recently returned from a trip where we saw a John Deere tractor on a beach down in Florida. We had to bring the picture back for our son to see. Their tractors are everywhere doing all kinds of different work. :)

Supper Time

Tonight we are going out for supper. It is too bad there just isn't any real good place to eat in our town or nearby towns. We have to go to the same places over and over. Sleeping On The Couch

I like to fall asleep on the couch at night but Bill would rather just go to bed. I have an idea in my mind that if I go to sleep too early I will just have to go to work earlier. Bill thinks I'd be better off just going to bed but for now I will just enjoy my spot on the couch.

Spell Check

For awhile my spell check wasn't working. It is strange to go without spell check after you get used to it. I remember looking up many words in the dictionary as I wrote letters and did homework. You feel sort of lost now when you must take time to look up words. I am glad my spell check is working again.

Second Trip

Last night after work Bill went to the grocery store for me to pick up a few things for the weekend. I had a short list which included round steak. He bought stew meat in cubes instead. We will use that sometime but I really needed the round steak so he had to make a second trip to the store before they closed. I am not complaining since he was willing to go which meant I didn't have to.

Karaoke

Have you ever been brave enough to sing at karaoke? We recently were on vacation and had a chance to sit through two nights of karaoke. One night, the first guy to sing was absolutely great. The MC then said that the guy ruined it(jokingly) for the rest of the people because he was too good. Apparently the singers are supposed to be borderline bad. Big TV

February Thaw

Is there such a thing as a February thaw? Since we didn't have one in January I think it would be great to have one this month. It is very unusual weather. The wind has been terrible and I think we have had enough snow for a long time. It makes it harder to do most things when it is this cold and snowy.

Slick Roads

The roads were very slick today. Many cars were in the ditches and median. It sure wasn't a good day to be out and about. I am glad that I work in town. Bill, however, has to drive to his office which is out of town. If the roads get too bad though, he stays close to home.

John Deere

Recently while vacationing in south Florida, we were on a beach enjoying the sun. We suddenly saw what appeared to be a John Deere tractor coming along the edge of the water. It looked as though it was smoothing out the sand. We could hardly believe our eyes. Our youngest son works for John Deere and I guess when thinking about Deere tractors we have usually visualized a farm field, corn or other types of country visions. So to see a John Deere on a Florida beach, really surprised us. We had to bring back a picture for our son. :)

Reading

Do you enjoy reading? There are times when I really do like to read and others when I don't. Of course, it makes a big difference what I am reading. Bill's parents were always very big readers. They would read after lunch and then take a nap. Some people just can't stand to read unless it is something they must read. I know people like that. I do think that it is important to be a good reader which means that a person take some time to read and be somewhat proficient.

Church

Tomorrow is Sunday. Boy, the weeks sure do fly by. We'll be going to church tomorrow and they are going to have all of us fill out a survey. We recently had our Pastor leave. We have been told certain things, but are still unsure as to why the Pastor's family felt it was time for them to go. So, tomorrow they will have us fill out something, hoping to get answers to some questions. I guess we'll see how it goes. It's to bad that sometimes man wants to lead instead of letting God lead. I'm not sure if that is what has happened here or not. I sure hope not.
